"It ain't #1 til it's #1 in Billboard."
I've been a radio DJ for 55+ years. Of all the surveys and charts for records and artists through the years, this is the only one that counts. Joel Whitburn has created the Bible of record research, using Billboard Magazine statistics. No radio station or individual who considers themselves in the know about music must have this research tool. There's a reason the broadcast industry says "It ain't #1 til it's #1 in Billboard."
