Refurbished=Not the best Browning game cam I've used......
I hesitate to have all potential buyers judge Browning cams based on this "Refurbished" unit, because I have others that have preformed very well. This unit was a marked down unit that has very poor detection, and optic quality is ...maybe C+ grade. Otherwise, it seems ok. It will still be useful in confined places where highest quality photos are not imperative.. The price was very reasonable, so I won;t go the hassle and expense of sending it back, but if I had paid full price, I would send it back. To be fair, I have three other Browning similar models, and they have been very dependable, and given quality results.

My first Bushnell trail cam........
........is still under evaluation, but so far it's almost all good news. My background has been with Covert and Moultrie products, and they have both been solid performers. I was attracted to try Bushnell because of the faster trigger speed, increased detection range, and overall good reviews. The controls format was different than I am used to, but not to hard to figure out. I liked the idea of the "hybrid" function ( where a still is taken before video starts so each trigger gets one of each )........so I started the cam in that mode. For some reason, the flash range was much longer for the video, and did a really amazing job of illuminating night videos. The stills are good, but not as bright. I haven't tried each as a single function yet, but if You're looking for great night videos, this cam is a good choice. this cam has lots of adjustments to experiment with to fine tune for optimum results, but so far, my results have been very promising. I have decided currently to try straight 10 sec. video rather than hybrid, because there is a short delay between still and video, and this time, tho short, is possibly filled with vital information about the subject, especially if it is moving fast. If needed, a still "snapshot"can be taken from any frame of the video in a program such as "movie maker ".
With the detection sensitivity set on "normal" my walk thru tests have proved to be dependable out to about 65' in the current location and conditions. This is a good bit better than most similarly priced cams.
Day photos are very good as well, but night photos, especially at distance, is where good trail cams strut their stuff, and this cam does as well or better than any I have seen. One of the best features is that this quality cam can be found on the web for a very reasonable price, at or below the middle of the market for the competition, thus making it a very good value.
One last note about batteries. If You have been using alkaline, and wondering if lithium are worth the extra money, IMO, the answer is YES. Not only do they last much longer, but they maintain a better voltage curve until they finally expire. Happy hunting,...or if Your like me,...You just like to know more about what lurks in the woods when Your not looking.
