Wonderful
The quality of this version of sanguine drawing chalk or Conte is firm and rich in color. Much less brittle than the Conte a Paris versions. Feels great in the hand. I can control well the quality and thickness of the line. Can draw light and dark lines easily. The stick does not break also (unlike the Conte a Paris). The little box housing the sticks in delightful too and should keep the sticks well protected. THANKS for a wonderful drawing material

Insightful and changes the way one sees
Well written with excellent diagrams that explain both concepts and how landscapes appear. Much better explanations than Payne's landscape book. Carlson enabled me to see landscape ( values and colors) in a new way. With second reading discovered even more insights into creating paintings
