Rook Records is Hackney Wick record shop specialising in 2nd hand imports. The shop launched in 2016 initially online, and in 2023 has opened its doors up to the public for the first time. Expect to find jazz, soul, disco, house, rock, reggae and hip hop, with a huge range of US and Japanese imports.

The records arrived in very good time and beautifully packaged. Unfortunately upon opening the box I was, in the main, disappointed. The records mostly appeared to come from a shop called Human Head in Brooklyn, New York, and a good percentage of them were in very poor condition. Some of them were so badly damaged that the damage rendered them unplayable, and one of them was even splattered with white paint (photo attached)! No quality control in evidence. Not impressed.
