Hello World! I live in the 4 corners region of the US. Just prior to Covid I lost my full time job and after that Covid hit the world and I’ve had to sell locally quite a few things to stay afloat. 4 years later still no job offers I’m still slinging my craft items, accumulations of various goods, clothes, etc. I’m emptying my home so I can move on to bigger and better things. Secretly wishing I get to keep my yarn though. 😆✌🏼 I have cheap jewelry on Facebook too. 🤷🏽♀️ we’ll see how that goes.

Gone Nuts over Ogden's Flake
I bought this cd because I like the Small Faces, obviously. I have come to very much enjoy Marriott/Lane’s works recently. And having read other reviews of ONGF I had to hear it for myself. Track 1. Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake-An orchestra along with the screeching guitars makes it rock 2. Afterglow-Definitely a beautiful love song where Marriott’s vocals really give me goosebumps, a good thing. The vocal range is to say the least “admirable!” 3. Long Agos Worlds Apart is different. Seems to have a muted vocal track with instrument levels taking over. But good sound to it. 4. Rene- Ah Rene! Love this tune. There seems to be two parts to this tune; the second half, bluesy (guitar/harp). Love the harmonica in this, Marriott knows exactly where to place these little tidbits to make it pleasing to the ear. I have to say Marriott’s voice is what always does it for me. Not sure if it’s intentional but Marriott seems to switch voices ... English to Bluesman. He does that with other songs and not sure if it’s intentional but he seems to switch characters/roles not only from song to song but within a song as well and he does it very well and very subtle. 5. Baker’s Song-“There’s wheat in the field, and water in the stream, and salt in the mine, and an aching in me ...” Just by reading the lyrics, I don’t think it would be something I’d listen to, but with Marriott singing it, loved it. 6. Lazy Sunday - Enjoyed the cheekiness of the lyrics. (7 thru 12 is about the journey of Happiness Stan) 7. Happiness Stan 8. Rollin’ Over 9. The Hungry Intruder. 10. The Journey. 11. Mad John. 12. Happydaystoytown. As someone who likes blues, Rollin’ Over was my favorite. Again it’s the strong gutsy vocals on that tune along with the rock/blues sound to it, GORGEOUS! Having read something of ONGF, which Marriott had wanted to make into a theatrical play but sadly never materialized.
