Jacksons : Handmade Soft Pastel : Ultramarine Blue

Lovely quality pastel, but not ultramarine
The quality of Jacksons' pastels I find to be very good, and generally good value for money. The service Jacksons provide is also very good in my experience. However I was very disappointed with the 'ultramarine' pastel. Ultramarine is a blue which leans towards indigo and red. This blue leans towards green in the spectrum - it's more what I would call a petrol blue, with more teal in it. It's difficult to find the right colour sometimes because of the vague names they are given, but ultramarine in its natural pigment can only be one kind of colour.

Excellent as a general energy boost and alternative to sugary snacks.
Absolutely lovely scrummy snacks when you need a little boost! Perfect especially if you are on a special diet (ie gluten-free). They are really addictive and I've had to hide the rest away from myself.

Great quality and value
I bought a portrait A5 sketchbook and have used it when travelling. The paper is good quality with good absorption, it's fine charcoal drawings as well as light washes. It seems sturdy enough with a nice feel to the cover and definitely offers value for money especially when compared with other brands.
