Polarity can be frustrating.
The motor works great, the only issue I had was the color coding was backwards for the black plug. This is on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport. Driver side. It came with the red plug installed and the black plug for the vehicles with the older plug. So I cut the red plug off and soldered the red plug on. Fortunately I tested the motor before closing up the door, because up was down, and down was up. This was an easy fix. Just remove the rubber plug in the rear of the connector. Then the red keeper on the terminal side. Inside you will find a tab you can pull away from each terminal and slide them out the rear of the connector body. Now swap them and push them in all the way. Then put the keeper and plug back in.

Check your wiring. Bracing interferes with the power mirror joystick.
2 of 2 found this helpful You should know that unlike the 98 up style, the convex on these is NOT heated. Only the power mirror is heated. That was a disappointment. The Brace provided for these mirrors causes an interference issue on the driver side with the power mirror switch. That location needs a bolt with a counter sunk bolt. You can make it work but it keeps the door panel pushed out. I also had wiring trouble with mine. I bench tested mine with a battery and it worked fine. After installing it the right side had no vertical adjustment. I have spare harnesses from the old tow mirrors and on a warmer day I will fix it. I love the added visibility.
