Boss DD-2 is the quintessential delay pedal
1 of 1 found this helpful This is THE original DD-2 from Japan, made in 1984 (older than myself). I bought this to replace the DD-5, I am a huge fan of having vintage gear in my line-up (along with some good modern ones like the Korg Pitchblack tuner and Boss PH-3 Phaser) and the only thing this baby is going to do is appreciate in value and make your rig sound simply amazing with no tone coloration. The A/D filter has a flat response between 40Hz and 7kHz, and has been described as very "analog". It's not the most flexible delay in the world, it can only go up to 800ms basically nothing else besides the Hold function which is interesting...example: play a bass note, press the pedal down immediately and play over the note. I have a Digitech Whammy WH-1 (another classic) and the 2-octave portamento is echoed beautifully with none of that obnoxious "aliasing" effect seen in my DD-5. It takes some getting used to since the modern delays have spoonfed the functionality and flexibility to me but I prefer this for its tone and classic status and is a testament to Boss' ability to withstand the rigors of time and touring.

One of the greatest fantasy trilogies of all time. This is great for our annual marathon. Beautiful packaging. New UHD pressing is perfect. Picture quality is great, audio mix is good but you have to make sure your outboard audio/receiver gear is presenting it properly otherwise the levels vary widely.
