One of the great films
Classic film and arguably the first film "noir". It's Bogart at his very best and the definitive point where his screen legend began to materialize. Incredible cast. A must see for any true film fan.

One of the great film noirs
Excellent. However, it's unfortunate the censors wouldn't allow more from the Raymond Chandler book it was based on into the movie. That would have made the plot a bit more understandable, but the viewer can read between the lines easy enough. What is very understandable is Bogart, as usual, steals the film. No one has ever, or will ever play a hard-boiled private eye as well as he could.
