Love it
This is one of our (my wife and I) all time favorites. The actors are very well caste. We never get tired of it.

Time very well spent, very entertaining and thought provoking.
2 of 2 found this helpful This is one of my all time favorite films. Although the story is set in the 1940's, the state of Isreal continues to endure the same intolerance today they did then. The story is compelling and moves at a steady clip through the entire nearly 3 and a half hours. Although Sal Mineo took the supporting actor award, Paul Newman is outstanding as the Haganah leader of the revolt against British occupation. I highly recommend this film.

This is the conclusion of Dekker's five part story
This seems to have been an after thought for the author. It is the fifth and final story in this portion of Dekker's seemingly endless saga of good vs evil. There were originally three books but two more were added later. It takes place far in the future where men and women are equal warriors who fight with swords, ride horses and get married as early as age 16. Elyon is their name for God. The story is very imaginative although somewhat criptic with white bats that seem to represent what are angels in our world and black bats as servants of evil. If you're interested in alternative worlds, and I am, this book will certainly entertain you.
