Well priced high quality macro prime lens
1 of 2 found this helpful If found the 60mm f2.8 EF-S USM Lens is an excellent lens for Macro Photography and good prime lens for portrait photography. I feel that this lens was better than the equivalent 100mm f2.8 when using a C frame camera such as my 7D. The 100mm lens seems to be the optimal size for the full frame cameras. Since the C frame is 1.6 x 60mm it is effectively 96mm.
I am very satisfied with the lens, it produces exceptionally sharp pictures with little effort and I would consider the sharpness better than any of my Zoom Lenses which are all L lenses.
The downside is that I reciently purchased a second camara which is a full frame 5D Mark II body and the 60mm can not be used on that camara.

Quality Canon Lens
This lens is early 1990's but a great high quality lens. I started to realize that the quality of the lens was even more important than the camera itself. The 20-35mm Canon f2.8 is great for quality portraits. I have taken the same pictures with my 17-85 mm IS lens at about 35mm and there was a significantly better picture taken from the 20-35. It do require that I change lenses more often.
