Insulated Hot or Cold Beverages - No Sweat !
This unbranded stainless steel carafe is double walled, so it will keep beverages hot or cold for several hours. I'd say about 12-16 hours for cold beverages with ice, and 4-6 hours for hot beverages. I bought two to store and serve beverages throughout the day at home instead of opening the fridge and/or using the microwave often. The cafe has a hot/cold blue/red label along the bottom edge. I used an exact knife to cut each label down the center, and carefully peeled off one side so I have one labeled HOT and one labeled COLD. Nice wide mouth opening, easy to clean inside and out. Would definitely recommend this size carafe for everyday small home gatherings, boat / RV use, cabins, etc where energy consumption is an issue. ~ SB

Intriguing Story w/ Unexpected Ending
The Elevator is a pleasant read! Storyline progresses at a nice pace, characters and sub-plots are kept manageable and uncomplicated. The story itself is an interesting one, and the ending, while sad, is not what you would have expected. I would consider The Elevator a good one- or two-time read, worthy of checking out.

Fintrop in Every Room!
Ikea's Fintrop wall-mount rods, rails, or racks - whatever you prefer to call them - are versatile enough to use in every room of the house. They're especially well suited for organizing things that ordinarily clutter up counter tops. I have three in the kitchen, one in the bath, and on the future to-do list is one in the bedroom closet. Add the matching Fintrop hooks and/or coordinating baskets or buckets and you can organize a lot of stuff in a neat and orderly fashion.
Fintrop rails come in a couple of finish options. I'm particularly fond of the satin black finish, which blends in with my oil-rubbed bronze theme quite nicely. The rails come in several lengths. I needed a couple of my rails shorter than the shortest length available. A quick hacksaw trim and voilá, custom fit in five minutes. Doesn't count as a unique Ikea hack, but definitely an easy modification.
Construction is good quality, the rails are sturdy and dependable, and the options available are plentiful. I am happy to recommend Ikea's FINTROP line! ~ SB
