Benchmark advantages

Pretty accurate, easy to read, good for off main roads in out of the way areas. The colors show mountain and forest areas better than the other brand.

Shallow depth accuracy?

If I can't touch bottom with my 9 ft fly rod I know that repeated readings on the Hawkeye showing 6 ft depth is not accurate. I have reason to believe that in deeper water the device is probably more accurate. Because of these inconsistencies I'm not sure yet that I can recommend the Hawkeye.
