Quality Product - Not Easy Install
Wings have some vulnerabilities exposed behind the front wheel - primarily the coolant reservoir and to a much less degree the oil filter. You hear anecdotal stories about coolant leaks from stones thrown against the reservoir. The fender extension lessens the risk. The question is one of risk/benefit. The install is not difficult, just time consuming. One concern always stated is that plastic fenders may crack from the vibration of the extension; however, this product is well braced and should greatly lessen any risk if properly installed. The paper instructions leave a little to be desired, but there are Youtube clips showing it step by step.
All in all - I vote yes for anyone concerned about road debris impacting front engine area.

OK but not absolutely necessary
This works and works well. I guess my main concern is the price. You could fabricate your own fairly easily. But, to be fair, it is well made. It is a simple price:utility consideration.
