Paradise Lost by J.A. Jance
I really love the Sheriff Joanna Brady series by J.A. Jance. This book continues the story of Sheriff Brady and her family, and I found it a very compelling read. It follows her teenage daughter who slips away from an organized camping trip with her tentmate, but they are not prepared for what they discover - the body of a murdered Phoenix heiress that is much the worse for wear from both scavengers and the elements.

Ridgeline is an engaging read that tells the story of the events leading up to the Fetterman Massacre.
This is a work of historical fiction that is riveting. I would say this book is a page turner. It is based on historical fact, and correctly reflects the sentiments of that time, from both the soldier's and the Indian's perspectives. Although the writer tries to portray all sides as sympathetic, yet flawed, there is a bias toward the Lakota perspective.
