Useful to oxygenate water, great for the price
What I use it for - I have them in pot ponds to generate some movement of water so that the water is oxygenated for guppies. I have had 2 in place for about 3 months.
The good stuff:
Very cheap;
when the sun is full on it it actually really goes well and the water goes pretty high;
does what I want - breaks the water surface to keep the water oxygenated;
fish dont seem to mind it, and like going under the sprinkles;
once it is on it is on. No fussing around with batteries and switches.
The not so good stuff:
will shoot water in all directions if things get in the holes;
if more than about 10% of the surface area is in shade it pretty much gives up;
in partial light it kind of grunts away and pushes out a dribble of water each time, like it has a bladder infection;
not particularly aesthetically pleasing.
