A versitlec lens appropriate for portrait as well as macro work.
The quality of the images it produces, particularly the color fidelity is unsurpassed. While the lens doesn't allow for 1:1 reproduction, the 50 gb sensor allows the user to achieve 1:1 (or better) through cropping; reducing the field in post production easily achieves that objective.

Why a Monochrom M?
2 of 2 found this helpful As compared to the M10-P, THE MONOCHROM has high resolution, greater dynamic range, and improved ISO capacity. Rendering in black and white is a different aesthetic from working in color, light, pattern, and contrast assume greater importance and this results in more careful composition.
Manual focus, as applies to all M cameras, combined with the easy to read DoF scales on the lens barrel, gives greater control (and thought) in composing the image. The camera is likely to result in slowing you down to think about plane of focus than would an auto-focus lens.
I really enjoy using this camera and, thus, I always have it with me.
