Good value for money but with a couple of drawbacks
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought 10 low voltage spotlights for my front-yard and I am pleased with them. They seem durable and they are nice, however I would like to point out two (non critical) issues.
1) The spotlights come with a 5m long electric cable that has a too small section if one wants to connect more than two or three lights one after each other. This is because voltage decreases as electricity travels along low voltage cable, and decreases more in thin cables than with larger section cables. In fairness, this is not a big issue because all I had to do is to run a thick cable and connect each light to it only using a short piece of their thin cable. however, I would have liked the spotlights to have a shorter but thicker cable.
2) The MR16 (low voltage) bulbs are kept fixed to the spotlights only through their small pins, hence they are a bit unstable, and when I touch the sporlights to change their orientation sometimes they fall, in which case I need to re-open the case and fix the bulb again. A sort of ring to keep the bulbs fixed would have helped!
Overall I am happy with the spotlights, but I have the impression that they were designed for high-voltage bulbs (which have larger pins than low voltage MR16), and the low voltage version came as an afterthought (hence thin cables, and no support for the bulbs).
I hope this helps.
