It really does sew thru 6-8 layers of material easily
sales points are sometimes exaggerated, and products do not perform. So far this one is easy to thread and sews properly. The backstitch lever is a little primative but it works. Threading is similar to my other Brother machine. The presser foot lift lever could raise the foot a little higher, but it's OK

It is a very cute addition to my Halloween mini beanies. It is larger than the other mini's that I have, but that's OK.
