First let me say EL&P is one of my favorite bands from that era or any era. I have many of their Cds & other DVDs. This could have been a great DVD, especially being their first performance . But rather than just putting out the concert as it was filmed. Someone (not a fan) decided it would be better to do some "artsee" production. The band gets introduced and then they cut to B&W footage of an orchestra playing Pictures at an exhibition. HUH !Then finally you get to see the concert for about 5 minutes. Now the music goes to the background & the concert still continues while you see & hear comments from band members & others. Then back to the concert. Then back to comments. A real hack job. I was so disapointed that I found Eagle Visions website & told them they ruined this show. No comment back. They also did this with Jethro Tull at Isle wight. Guys at Eagle vision, put comments & interviews on as extra features AFTER the show plays. Do EL&P and the fans a favor by re releasing as a continuous concert.
If you are a collector or big fan of EL&P I guess you will have to get this one. The footage you do see is great. The band is fresh, full of energy & sound great. That is only reason I didn't give it a poor rating.

Humble Pie 3 piece
Think Humble Pie reunion in 1985, minus Peter Frampton. I saw Humble Pie back in the early 70's. They didn't need Frampton back then either. He basiclly played guitar while Steve was the main attraction. I guess that's why Frampton left the band.
This DVD recorded live in London is the best footage of Steve Marriot or Humble Pie I've seen. Granted you always want to see a band in their prime. I've looked for a while not much out there. Get this DVD. Pro shot with multi cameras & quality sound. The band, all original members Jim Leverton & Jerry Shirley sounds great. Steve's raspy soulful voice echos that of the live double album. His on stage frontman antics aren't as exuberant, but he is doing double duty holding down all the guitar parts & singing. He does a really nice blues solo on "Five years long". And that cockney accent is ...well, Steve.

CACTUS - LIVE
I guess if your reading this you know who these guys are. If you know who these guys are and like the band, you need to see this show. You get 3 out of 4 original members. Jim McCarty on guitar is better than ever, most leads are note for note off the records which everyone likes to hear. Tim Bogert, bass & Carmine Appice, drums drive these rockin' classic tunes like only they can. Jimmy Kunes replaces vocalist Rusty Day and does a damn good job. The boys are a top notch high energy rocking boogie band that keeps your foot a tappin. The highlight of the DVD for me is "One way or another" better the original recording. 4 stars.
Pro shot, multi camera, great sound. A great addition to my concert DVD collection.
