Modern look at its best
I recently purchased this Ignis Accalia wall mounted ethanol fireplace as a replacement for my brick wood burning fireplace which I recently closed.
I initially considered an electric fireplace but I couldn't accept the idea of just simulating the beauty of the real flames - it just couldn't make sense for me.
The option of a gas fireplace was also out of reach considering the high cost of the gas fireplace and the installation.
The Ethanol Fireplace came as a perfect solution: sleek, real flame, good heat, easy to install recessed or on the wall.
The package arrived in perfect condition and faster than expected.
All the materials used are of good quality with good fit and finish making this fireplace an element of beauty in my living room.
I purchased the fuel not from Ignis directly but from other vendor as it was a little less expensive.
My first impression after lighting up the four burners was that there is a little smell but that was caused by the brand new metal being probably covered by some kind of oil/protection. After the first few minutes there was no smell at all and the flames were nice and provided plenty of heat - in fact I reduced the height of the flames quite a bit for that reason.
I forgot to mention that my installation was on the wall not recessed.
The external frame/case becomes hot but, since I mostly use a moderate flame height, the wall seemed to maintain a reasonable low temperature. I have to see what happens with larger flames but I would expect it will be just fine.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase and I can't wait for the next time to light up the beautiful flames of the, now, central piece of my living room.
