Worth a listen to.
I read reviews of these headphones before i bought them and i tend to agree with other people but i thought it important to point out a few things that i wanted to know and couldnt find out before i bought them.
For the type of music that i write i need a specific type of head phone.
I produce House and Tekno and i don't DJ ( yet) so this means a specific type of HP.
Durability is not as important for me as my HPs don't travel at all.
When i look at more expensive HPs - $1000 - $2500 which i can happily afford these HP are great at mixing bands and rock etc but are beyond what i want because i want to hear my sound closer to what people into my genre hear.
Those people are more likley to hear House and Tekno on PA speakers and car speakers and buds - not high quality Rock and Jazz speakers.
I dont want low quality /high durability as i produce music .i do not want any HPs that add extra Bass - like cheaper ones do.I do not need the massive freq range of Bowers and Wilkins or expensive HPs.
Anyway...
These HD8s are way stronger than ill ever need and nobody want less quality in something they buy!
My last HPs cost me $80 so i wanted a significant step up for $350.
It is a step up in quality - better spacial recognition - panning etc.
Better definition in bass freq. and correct sounding top end for me and plenty of mid detail.
Im not suddenly mixing differently now i have these though i can hear more which is about right if you know what your doing.
The mid detail is the biggest increase from these HPs.
The build quality is amazing and they feel great on my head even with my mopp of hair - and these HP wouldnt fall off your head even if you went sky diving!!!
Quality cables and lovely pads.
But there too expensive...
There a $250 pair of HPs at best.
