NGK Platinum plugs for Golf GTI
I worked in the power industry for 15 years, mainly on the high voltage side of things like power transformers where 132,000 volts goes in, and 11,000 comes out. NGK make a lot of the insulators for that stuff so I figure they Know a thing or two about delivering that 25,000 volts to your engine.
I have used NGK iridium and platinum plugs in all of my bikes and cars for the past 10 years and know that after I have fitted them, I can simply forget about that part of the ignition system for the next few years. I used to have problems with hard starting on a hot engine in my Harley Fatboy until I fitted the NGK plugs. Problem solved.
These plugs (PFR7S8EG) are actually the factory fitment for the MK5 Golf GTI, and if you cruise all the forums you will find that they are still the best plug to use, and those guys have tried them all. So stick with a quality, factory approved and tested product and know that you are using the best possible component available for your vehicle. Period.
