These are a really great solution when using side reins to long or pony - saves your saddle dees, easy to clip to, & seriously heavy duty. I love them

Beautifully evocative history/memoir
This memoir/history by Wallace Stegner is an extraordinary look at life on the Plains at a time when the Canada/U.S. border was fluid & a sustainable way of life in a land noted for its isolation & harshness was still being worked out between multi-ethnic settlers, Metis, & Native Americans. We know how the story ends, but this first hand account is incredibly powerful in Stegner's ability to create a visceral experience through words.

Care & Management of Native Ponies
There are a lot of books out that will tell you how to care properly for horses and ponies in any given situation. This one does not add a great deal to the existing literature in that any of the BHS Pony Club Manuals cover the same ground very concisely and completely, and there are other equine management manuals that are more scientific and technical in their approach. That said, this book has a couple of things that set it apart. First and best is a really great section on homeopathic ad herbal remedies for common ailments that is very informative and gives the pony keeper a really good first look at alternative methods of treatments. Second, speaking as a pony owner/breeder of many years' standing, it's nice to have a book that treats the needs of ponies - which vary vastly from the needs of horses due to genetic and metabolic differences. To have this information available in an easy to read, common sense fashion, could, I hope, prevent enormous mistakes being made by well-intentioned novice owners ho are trying to work on their own. A handy addition to a pony owner's bookshelf.
