review of the 5700
4 of 4 found this helpful First this is a Digital light projection(DLP) projector I searched and researched many projectors in this price bracket and found this one to be the best for image quality, I am a little sensitive to the rainbow effect, but found no problem in this area.
The test material used was Driven for it's colours and fast moving shots of the indi cars and Underworld Evolution for it's dark action sequences.
The quality was amazing, sharp vibrant colours and awsome contrast levels, no auto iris control here!
The source feeds were through the component and computer d-sub. Composite is as you would expect pretty poor when projecting an image of 120" I didn't test the digital input because the quality difference, for this resultion, between the component and dvi is insignificant.
My only bug bear is fan noise, silent scenes are not so silent, later models are quieter, my solution- build a dedicated Home Cinema room and site the projector back further!
We put the 5700 agsinst an infocus in76, the 5700 won for quality at all resolutions! this test was done at sevenoaks HIFI

Quite a high build primer
1 of 1 found this helpful First let me say that this takes a while to cure, multi layered areas were given a full day to cure at 16deg C.
Sanding is a breeze, so be careful, or you can cut it back too far.
I've used it on prepped plastic and fibre glass, the filler settles nicely with no sinkage.
I'll use it again

Bluetooth upgrade to your desktop
I have a self built media desktop that has all my music and films. I've never needed a Bluetooth dongle, as my audio is fed to the amp, however transferring files and playing music from my phone and to my headphones was an issue, so I purchased this little unit. I have win 10, the unit installed without fault using the driver supplied. The quality to my headphones is excellent, no crackle or noise, range is okay at the standard 10 meters.
