Good ATO for medium to large tanks
I have used several types of ATO systems for my 6 saltwater tanks.
I like Hydor for larger tanks because you can use whatever dc pump you have to do the filling, which is a benefit if you need a stronger pump to lift water to 4 plus feet high.
The smaller nano sized ATO come with tiny sensors and look nice in a nano tank and are more sensitive, BUT the tiny pumps that you must use with them cannot lift water more than a foot or 2 at the most, so your top off container must be at the same height as your display tank.
I give the Hydor only 4 stars because the sensor for minimum and maximum water levels are nearly an inch apart. This is no big deal in a larger tank, but that much water evaporation in a 20 gallon tank can affect water parameters which isnt good if you have sensitive coral. Most soft or LPS corals are fine with this, sps are not. You also must routinely clean the salt creep off the sensors every month or two as too much salt affects the performance of the sensor to detect water level.

Good quality hangers - challenging
Good quality and I think I can make these work for what I'm hanging, but I didn't get everything that was in the photos - wall screws missing - mounts look different than photos. I guess I have to go buy my own screws. Good price compared to others.

Designers should go back to the drawing board on this product
0 of 1 found this helpful After 4 months I had to throw the whole thing in the trash. First - the float is made so too much debris can get into it and block the valve from working properly. Snails/sand/salt creep/ day after day I'd have to take it apart and clean it as it constantly malfunctioned. Then the controller got a short in it - so I took it apart and stripped the wires-re-wired it - it worked ok for a while till a small amount of water got inside (it was not near the tank), so the whole thing was ruined. Before I took it apart I called Tunze company for advice. No help whatsoever- very poor customer service. I won't buy anything made by Tunze. I have 4 nano saltwater tanks and I'm using a different ATO that is working great on all of them.
