I have had one of these since they came out. This version is probably my favorite. The larger element in this actually saves power on the bill versus the 1 with the smaller element. Nothing ground breaking but every couple bucks helps these days. Heats up faster than traditional plug in hot plate type products and the glass top cleans off easier than metal elements too. I will probably always have one of these.

Was in better shape than we expected, actually looked good enough to replace our living room speakers. At first I freaked out because they sounded hollow and empty. That was on an old 15 watt grace digital blue tooth amplifier that was powering some Elac Debuts. That amp was not up to the task. Switching to a 30 watt per channel amp, still a grace, transformed these into punching you in the face with Bass. My wife yelled at me for the sub being turned up too loud and the sub was off. Love them.

uses over 100 watts on lowest setting
This filters the air great, but even on the lowest speed it's pulling over 100 watts from the wall. These older units weren't concerned with power consumption and something this small taking 130 watts is pretty unusual these days. I have a new filter that only pulls 6 watts for my bedroom and will use this only when wild fires cause too much for the little one to handle. I had one of these for years and never realized how much power they used. You can find filters that draw 25 watts and perform as well. It is very loud, I would compare the sound to that of a window being rolled down on the highway. I have too many of the filters that fit this to stop owning at least 1, but the power usage is a real bummer.
