My memory
I bought these for a Poweredge R610 and they work great. Who wouldn't want to have 16gb more memory?

My PowerConnect 2716
1 of 1 found this helpful It works great for what I do, playing with networking in a homelab. I wanted a managed switch so I could create vlans and aggregated links - it works fine. The only gripe I would have about it - it's best to connect to it with windows xp because it's and older switch and the web management doesn't like the newer browsers as much - I'm pretty sure it's a javascript issue and there are plenty of articles on the web about it. A really good buy for the price (I paid $35 for mine).

My Xeon X5355
About 10 years old and they perform as well as most anything you will get at Walmart, put two of them together and you have a potent package for most home dev servers. They are a bit old and power hungry, but in the winter time you can use them to heat your computer room - seriously. In 2016 and I expect to be still using them until 2018. Excellent value and performance for your dollar.
