Verizon will not activate an old box even if it's new.
1 of 1 found this helpful Please get the IMEI number before you buy this device. Verizon still services these boxes of you already have one, but will not activate one for new service

My daughter loves the phone.
It has a large screen, long battery life, and lots of memory. However, don't use Microsoft Family. There is no way to download apps with a child's account because you cannot update Microsoft Family.
