Great camera could use a few changes
4 of 4 found this helpful This camera is great but could use a few changes. One is the fact you have to charge the battery while it is in the camera. Samsung should have provided an external charger with the camera. The other is that you cannot have a front view while making a video. The videos are excellent quality but if the person recording a video wants to be in the video he has to guess where he should stand.
Samsung should have provided a complete manual in the box. I guess I am old fashioned and like to actually read a book and be able to move around while testing the features of the cam software without being tied to a computer. It is much easier to have something in print with you. I did receive a free manual after calling the 800 number located in the Quick start manual that was included in the camera.
It records videos in mpeg instead of .wmv....If you want to watch the videos in windows. Good have a software program to convert them to .wmv if you want them in that file extension.
It does take excellent pictures and videos. I still have to learn how to use all the options included. You really need a micro SD card to get the memory you want for it. Its great for videos and can replace a camcorder. Also I would buy an extra battery if you like to take a lot of pictures.
