An Invasion of Amusment
This box set is a flashback to my late childhood, but the humor it contains can please at a multitude of levels. This series amused children and adults with its twisted views of the world. Zim, an Invader who escaped exhile to be part of Mission Impending Doom 2, has landed on Earth to destroy us all. With his robot companion GIR and a super secret underground base, Earth faces certain doom...well not really. Dib, a young paranormal investigator, is on to Zim and while no one believes him, he will be Earth's best defense against one egotistical alien. This show is on of the first animated shows to use CGI and while the animation is....unique, the jokes and the storylines never fail to amuse.

Enchanting
If you enjoy Ranma 1/2 or Inu Yasha, you'll love Mermaid Forest! The manga is what had me looking for the DVDs and I am completely and utterly satisfied with the story. The series isn't very long, but it is filled with action, romance, and a good dose of fighting and mutants. The basis of the story is the Japanese legend that if you eat mermaid flesh you become immortal. Yuta ate mermaid hundreds of years ago and is searching for a mermaid to help him reverse the effect. On the way he meets a fellow immortal, Mana, who has been sheltered for her whole life. The story is enjoyable, the characters amusing, and the voices and music are great. Vol 1 is the first part of the story with Yuta and Mana meeting and getting a glimpse at the life Yuta has lived.

Piteous Monster
While this was obviously a "made for TV" movie the actors do an excellent job of telling the story. Luke Goss makes for a monster you want to pity, even as he brings his revenge down on the doctor. While the special effects weren't as great as the De Niro version, I found Goss a more intreging monster than De Niro.
