My definitive Lord Peter Wimsey
This box set contains three Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries that feature Harriet Vane. The romance between the two main characters is a sub-plot that continues through the three episodes, but each is a complete stand alone mystery. Edward Petherbridge as Lord Peter is excellent. He brings the character to life for me more than other actors who have taken the part. Harriet Walter (Harriet Vane) and Richard Morant (Bunter) are also very strong in their roles. As a fan of the Dorothy L Sayers novels on which the episodes are based, I find these adaptations very satisfying. They are well produced and represent their period well. It is a pity that 'Busman's Honeymoon' was not adapted for this series. Recommended for Lord Peter fans and those who enjoy a visit to the between war period in England.
