GREAT SHOW FROM NEW ZEALAND
I chanced on this through watching another NZ show (a comedy) called "Seven Periods With Mr Gormsby". After watching the latter I sought a review of it, and that review mentioned "Outrageous Fortune" as an excellent NZ product and they were right.
Very realistic situations well scripted and very well acted.
I was engaged all the way through the first series and am about to go on EBay to buy the next.
A bit of fun included, but also real situations.

ONE WITH A DIFFERENCE
A different sort of story but delightful all through.

INVASIVE AND COMPELLING
I first saw this movie on its release in 2001 but not again until now. I have thought about it many times over the intervening years and was uplifted by seeing it again.
It is a very different style of production and conveys human anguish using at times mystical images and music to tell more than a mere narrative.
For me it crossed the usual boundaries of race, country, standard responses to drama and some of the limitations of the film media. Paul Kelly, along with all the cast was excellent, but it is a movie where you forget that these people are actors.
