If you like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide- you'll like this.

Watched it in late 80s. Loved it then and now. I see one viewer found the pace boring. But, that's called plot developement.

That Girl (season 2) DVD

Marlo Thomas and Ted Bessel share an affection & tenderness that is absent from today's sitcoms. Clearly, the winsom Ms Thomas inherited her dad's comedic timing. Ann Marie (Thomas) struggles to balance her newborn independence with an actress' scarse income. Her journalist boyfriend Don Hollinger(and later, fiance played Ted Bessel), struggles with his deep affection/ love for Ann, her sometimes harebrained logic, and her openly hostile father (Lew Parker). I could have bought this DVD elsewhere, but the seller's price was rock bottom while the service was top shelf. I bought two orders. One for me and a relative (since my sister's DVD player expired right after I made the purchase, she has not seen the set I bought for her @ Christmas, but was very excited about recieving it. She "hinted" about it since November).
