Always a classic
1 of 1 found this helpful I grew up on this movie, my husband grew up on this movie and now my three year old daughter will grow up on this movie. Even friends of mine who are not fans of musical per se, love this film. It just makes you want to sing along and leaves you feeling good. I am so glad that the classics are still around. With so much bad news and bad stuff out there this movie is a breath of fresh air in a smokey room. It's great to have it on DVD now. As my little one wants to watch the barn dancing scene over and over, I don't think my VHS copy was going to hold up much longer. Get this film.

Nice quiet time activity
I bought this playbook for my 2 1/2 year old daughter as an activity to keep her busy during church. She's a busy kids who likes to have something to do with her hands. This book keeps her occupied for quite a while. The tray is easy for her to slide in and out and is quiet when she does move it. The pieces stick well too.

A nice new twist for Signing Time
I purchased this DVD for my 2 1/2 year old. She has been watching Signing Time since she was about 6 months old. She loves the series one volumes that we own. I wanted to expand our ST library, so I got this since it was recommended for older children. I like the new features like counting time and spelling practice. I also like that this new series teaches sentences and phrases too. Now we are learning to have a conversation in ASL.
I have always found that signing with her helps her to grasp certain concepts faster, such as letters and colors. We have been working with my DD on how to deal with new people, since she tends to be leery of strangers. This DVD is perfect for reinforcing manners. And since she feels empowered with her new words she also feels comfortable enough to politely ask a stranger for space if she needs it. All this after just two days of having the DVD. I am so glad I bought it.
