    Solid Hip But Not Remarkable
The Tragically Hip are back again, this time with "World Container." Allow me to get right to the point. The first four tracks are superb. The remaining tracks are average at best and left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. As a Tragically Hip fan for approximately 20 years, I still yearn for the albums that are magnificent from start to finish. Albums such as "Fully Completely," "Up To Here," and "Trouble At The Henhouse" can be listened to from start to finish without any drop in song quality. More recent releases such as "In Between Evolution" and "Music At Work" left me yearning for more. Instrumentally, the band is as tight as ever. The rhythm section is fantastic and Bobby Baker's guitar work is still underappreciated. Gordon Downie's voice is holding up as he ages. There is just some intangible missing with this release. Nevertheless, I rank the Tragically Hip in my top 5 rock bands of all time (others: U2, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Led Zeppelin). This being the case, I expect top shelf material on every release. Notwithstanding my high expectations, this release is still better than 90% of the material that contemporary "rock" artists can deliver these days. The Tragically Hip are still the finest export that Canada has to offer.

    Good heavy material.
Very heavy. Great quality. It doesn’t get blown into a ball unlike cheaper flags.

    Hard Rockin' Motley Crue
My sentiments are similar to other reviews that I have read. If this were not a "Motley Crue" CD it would have been better received. This CD rocks your ass off. It is far less pop oriented and geared to a hard rock/metal fan. It shows that the musicians in the band can play with anyone. Often the musical ability of the boys got lost in the glam-pop over produced material. John Corabi was a real nice fit for the band but ultimately record sales were not up to par. "Misunderstood" might be the best song ever recorded by the band. You can play this from start to finish. Just play it loud. Believe it or not, I might be the only guy to have purchased this CD twice (I lost my original).
