AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU Black Edition Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W

This CPU did not work on AM3 board.

I removed an AMD phenom 2 Black edition AM3 CPU off of an AM3 board. I replaced it with this CPU however it came up with a incompatible CPU. Even though the CPU is designed as an AM3 to work on an AM3 board it did not work. I don't know if this is due to a defect of the CPU.
