Well underated SLR of the past!
The title has said it all. An extremely reliable film camera of the late 80s with decent matrix metering system (including spot metering if camera model number end with an S) and not very quick autofocus if compared with other brands of cameras at the time or newer F90/F90X.
This "tank" will outlive you! It is heavy and well build to withstand serious abuse! It is cheap as chips and will deliver professional results if used with slide film.

Pentax SFXN SLR
No nonsense film camera and currently cheap enough to acquire! The main good features are the Gallium Photodiode metering cell and the ability to use two flashguns at once to avoid this nasty shade that normally gets created with a single flash! Sync speed is 125 of a second and the top shutter speed is 4000. Autofocus is kind of OK but nothing spectacular compared to other SLR’s of the time. It is quite alright for more or less everything you throw at it but do not expect miracles. The camera is sturdy, perhaps not very comfortable and easy to use. It produces an astonishing picture quality especially with a both flashguns engaged at once. The only issue that I had experience is the failure of autofocus gearing inside the camera body. Highly recommended film camera for on camera flash photography especially with Pentax AF 400 FTZ and the build in camera flashgun!

If someone is looking for a cheaper substitude for Penn 712z and older models!
Well, If you are stuck with Penn reels needing bail spring replacement don't search any further! A replacement genuine spring cost around £5 from the USA, however, delivery charges are £10!
£15 in total just for bail spring is kind of dear.
All that is needed to make Mitchel bail spring work on Penn's 712's is to cut it carefully to the level of the straight pin going into the reel's main spinner, anticlockwise, and make a bend going upwards in order to enter the small hole on the bail plate.
