Compatible. No driver required. No problems.
This Hard drive is MicroSoft Windows compatible and does not require any driver. It is plug and play and is readily recognised. You need to format partitions under: control panel sysyem and security Create and format hard disk partitions. Use the default settings. I use this drive as my back-up which is updated every week. This way I don't loose data files.

A new decade... but this card is far from out of date.
Well, before I go into a massive dialogue about the pros and cons... here is a bit about my system:
Intel Quad Core 8200
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L motherboard
4GB DDR2 Ballistix RAM
Monitors: LG W2243S, LG W1942T, HP w1907v
Windows 7 (32 bit) with DirectX 10
750W Power case (25cm side fan, front and intel CPU cooler)
DVD Player, Logitech MX518 mouse and camera.
This card performs without any slowness, wobbles, flickering or shadows. I think that my system is mainly limited by my 22" monitor, and if you plugged this card into a HD TV you may find very differently to my observations. I must mention at this point that DVI is a must over VGA and there is a noticable difference with this card.
The ATI website (AMD) provides some very comprehensive drivers, but the features are rather limited. You cannot for example send more power to one screen or allocate more RAM. There is support for Crossfire and a connector come in the box, but I have not tested this yet.
I had previously relied upon a Sapphire 7000 (64MB), which in comparison, had a crackle diagonally across the screen and sufferd from poorer colour rendering. You tended to see small boxes appearing. This card suffers from none of the above and is s quantum-leap in equivalence.
I did have some severe problems with compatibility when I added this HD 3850 to my 7000, I had no input and the screen was blank. The reason is that Windows 7 looks to the lowest denominator when it applies its graphics driver. In this case it chose the WDDM 1.0 to operate my 7000. However, the HD 3850 requires a minimun of WDDM 1.1 and will not backward-compate. Currently there is no support for both versions at once on windows, and the HD 3850 has no drivers supporting this version (if that is even possible). So I had to loose my 7000 alltogether. If you are running Windows 7 please check this if you have another graphics card (as it will need to be supporting DirectX 10 and Windows 7).
On an unrelated issue, you will also need the latest drivers from the website to run on Windows 7 (those are the Catalyst drivers!).
So I guess this is a good card, with a few minor problems, but on the balance of things, I cannot help but give it 10/10. I love the damn thing. It is quiet and in the future will support Crossfire. Over the next decade we will all watch more TV over the net and this card will serve me well. It will also upgrade well when we move to 64 bit and technology becomes available to max out all of that 1GB RAM.

Modern monitor. Not cheap junk BUT a branded product. Mid market.
0 of 1 found this helpful Picture: Not as bright as more premium models: compated to W2243S and W1942T. But high DFC 8000:1 and good refresh rate. my rating: 6/10
Problems: Some high pitch buzz - but it's no louder than a gnat's wings. The picture is good but hard to adjust.
Durability: These are quite tough monitors and do last. They are bigger than most other 22" monitors and more square. 8/10
Overall:
