Iceland may be cold but its full of hot music
When my friend handed me a CD entitled Dirty Paper cup I was intrigued to say the least. After enquiring who this unfamiliar artist was my friend turned to me and said, "Hell, its a hard name to spit out but it's worth a whirl". As my curiosity peeked I slipped into my car and stared to listening to this album. The first track, Ski Jumper, absolutely blew me away and before long I was skipping through my favorite tracks from memory after only having the album for a few minutes. The album to me is like a well rounded butler at a dinner party. Its moves flawlessly through a electro sound funk feel making your guests feel warm and at home and as you suddenly realize that dinner is over the butler flicks to more subdued chilled out vibe. In a nut shell the album is crammed with plinky plonkey electric rifts and soft melodies. Its neither hard or soft, hot or cold, but one thing is definite - Hafdis Huld's voice magically transports you to world where nothing is wrong. There is no pain or war when the album plays just a sea of musical tranquility. Everyone buy this album!
