Product useless

I received my product. I was very excited to receive this. It was what I was looking for. I finally got around to getting everything set up on my ipod nano with Itunes. I got all my music downloaded to it and followed the instructions as to disconnection from computer. Tried to use my ipod nano, and it will not turn on unless I have it plugged in. So I can't even listen to it when I am out mowing lawn, walking the dog, or any other activity that requires me not to be at my computer. Was very disappointed.
