Moog Slim Phatty Synthesizer Module Excellent Condition!!!
01 June 2017
Awesome Moog Desktop
This is my second Moog in as many years. I picked up a Mother 32 two years ago because I've been after that Moog sound for a while now. The mother is an infinitely patchable device but I really lamented not being able to save the sounds I came up with. Enter the oddly-named Slim Phatty. It's got that classic Moog sound with modern controls. Everything can be addressed via MIDI, there's 100 preset locations in memory. And it's fully analog. My only real complaints are the 5-10 minute warm up time and the limited number of modulation routings. Neither of these are that big of a deal. Once it's warmed up, the oscillators are rock solid-stable, unlike some of my other analog gear. As for modulation, you can easily modulate nearly any parameter via MIDI. Don't let the name throw you off, this is a great monosynth worthy of the Moog monicker.

Yamaha FC7 Volume Pedal (Foot Control Vol Pedal)
14 June 2017
Well-built and Reliable Expression Pedal
Yamaha makes extremely reliable gear and the FC7 is no exception. This is perhaps the sturdiest expression pedals you can buy. It's heavy, so it stays put, has flexible setup options, and a long cable for easy positioning. You can also connect multiple pedals together, which is handy for setup and teardown. I've purchased a number of these over the years-the first one over 25 years ago-and all of them continue to operate as consistently as the day they were first put into service.
Roc-N-Soc NROK Nitro Drum Throne w/ Saddle Seat, Black
13 January 2018
Comfortable and configurable seat for musicians
I picked up the Roc-N-Soc Nitro with the additional back rest to replace a backless drum throne that uses a traditional height adjustment mechanism. The older throne, while decent quality, had a bit of wobble in it. This is standard behavior for most threaded drum seats, particularly when one wants to be able to rotate while playing. The hydraulic height adjustment of the Roc-N-Soc is fantastic! There's zero wobble yet the seat rotates effortlessly. I also appreciate the shock absorbing aspect of the throne. I had read about this and was a little concerned but the effect is minimal. The optional back rest is extremely supportive as well, particularly when performing with both feet off the ground –though I do wish it could be positioned a bit further away from the seat. Bottom line, if you play multiple hours a day, you need a solid, flexible long-term seating solution. Preferences vary of course, but for me, this throne has delivered a huge upgrade in comfort and control, especially during long jam sessions.
