Excellent Play Adaptation
This movie is like a double time capsule now: First, as a tense drama about the Vietnam war adapted from the stage play. Second, as a Robert Altman movie from the early 80's with the director's focus on character dynamics with lots of creative input from the actors. The play's emphasis on race, sexuality and politics are still timely and relevant.
