The Baxter:Music from the original soundtrack
When I saw the movie I just had to get the soundtrack.King of France,Angela McCloskey(sounds a lot like Macy Grey),Lara Meyerratken,El May-HERO,Amy Miles-PUT/ON(my favourite tracks-a very much Cyndi Lauper sound to her voice),Rats with Wings~DONT MELT/Coke vs Pot and Beer... and not to forger Rufus Wainwright...really added their flair to this IFC movie.A whimsical MY WHISPER by Peter Salett ..You will find yourself humming along on The Baxters theme and JUST A BODY -King of France is just such an addictive tune, you cant resist giving in to it.
Laid back very much is the theme of this cd and WHEN YOUR MAN IS WILD by Craig Wedren & Rashida Jones ..such a nice R&B feel to it.This cd has a great alternative feel to it but also some rock & roll,even a bit of rapping!and all the rest.A great mix that will get stuck in your head with a nice flow throughout the cd ending nicely with HOPEFUL the Baxters theme.

Dizzy heights-The Lightning Seeds
Nothing like good old well written POP songs-by a genuis Ian Brodie bringing back such good memories "Playing Trivial pursuit with the Goddess of Love" how can you resist that?From Imaginary Friends (track#1).There is a happy and optimistic flow throughout not like todays dreary and strained music that sounds all the same filled with anger and misery.Waiting for Today to Happen, is brilliant.Listen to the words,surprise you can!Sugar Coated Iceberg (track#5) will always be a favourite "you were cheap, but I was sold"/"a sugar-iceberg stole my soul".Like you do (track#7) will get you up and dancing.I know many says Wishaway is not a favourite-but I simply love the track and the intro of the horn is a touch of magic..Nothing complicated just straightforward great melodies/music.YOU SHOWED ME has a special place in my heart,good memories such a nice beat.I enjoy trainig to this cd at gym, you simply cant help being motivated.I think Wheezer etc all got influenced by them. Discover them today, you won't be disappointed and might be surprised just how profound the words are and how appealing to a wide audience."No I didnt mean what I just said meant something else instead" FISHES ON THE LINE track#12...we can all relate.
