Well, this book wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a book written by a professional author, detailing a wide assortment of cool Muscle cars that have gone missing over time. The cool cars are there, but the professional author is not. What it is is a compilation of short works by a wide variety of people, with a wide variation in their writing skills. The poor writing skills of most of the "authors" really brings down the quality of the book. Perhaps if someone had edited or proofread the book it would have been much better. As it is, some of the stories are very hard to read & understand. Some stories, such as the last page of the Grumpy's Toy IV, have so many errors it is comical. It is hard to make heads or tails of that last page. A few of the stories seem to have been taken right off the internet, I know I've seen a few of them & the pictures on the web.
There are some fine stories though, that rise far above the rest. One is the work of Tom Benvie, about the Uncle Sam S/S AMX. It is well written, much better than the others in this book.
Would I buy it again.....?? Well, maybe. There are a lot of cool cars & interesting stories, but it is so hard to read & make sense of. Hopefully later editions get an editor & proofreader to straighten some things out.
