Is it necessary?
0 of 8 found this helpful I heard so much about using this disc to calibrate you tv. So, I purchased a new 55" Samsung curved tv. Took it out of the box and the picture was amazing! Next, in said to myself, if I get a Disney WoW disc, it'll be like sitting in the dugout next to Aaron Judge. Well, I won an auction for a blu-ray and as soon as I received it, I tore into the parcel as if it was my Golden Ticket. Followed all the steps for calibration, then, return to my digital channels an to my surprise the picture was terrible. I was upset with myself for not saving the previous settings. Fortunately I was able to calibrate to my liking with the naked eye. And in case you're wondering, there were three of us viewing the before and after and then after again and we agreed the original Samsung settings were optional for the three of us.
Lastly, some are wondering why I'm not upset about purchasing the blu-ray in the first place. Well, I know one of you curious cats will "Buy It Now" and boom...reimbursed! There's only a few of the silly discs in the world, they just continue to be recycled on eBay.
Good luck on having better success than me and my comrades.
