One of the best books I've read

Lucia St. Clair Robson has done a remarkable job of bringing the time period between 1809-1838 to life in this book. She also paints an extremely vivid picture of Cherokee culture and how it was changing, and also the young Sam Houston. I have read this book three times and truly feel as if I actually know the characters, not as people simply in a book, but alive and standing before me.
