NIKON D80
1 of 1 found this helpful The camera is everything that I expected and more. I am having to remember my SLR days. I have been shooting with a Canon digital camera without the horsepower this camera with regard to automatic to fully manual.
If you have shot your fair share of SLR 35mm, you will have little adjustment to Digital SLR cameras. The shutter is extremely quiet and quite responsive to taking the picture. The real beauty of this camera is the quick review of the image on the screen on the back of the camera. You don't like it take another quick picture. It especially paid off on several shots at a wedding that I recently shot at Lajitas in Big Bend, Texas. Grooms eyes, Brides smile, Brides hair ... out of place? Make the correction and shoot another picture.
I am extremely happy that I purchased another battery. Although, I did not need it during the wedding. The battery does not hold a long term charge if left in the camera. Certainly, the charge is long enough to shoot a long day at a wedding or a sporting event.
I would give the camera a 9.5 rating. The more I use the camera, the more the rating will go up. I'd buy the D80 again. Maybe, I will upgrade to the D200 in the future but right now, I do not know why I would. The D80 does everything that I have asked.
