KEMSO Intank Fuel Pump for Can-Am DS 450 2008-2018

Kemso Fuel Pump in a Honda ST1300
I bought this as my ST1300 was suffering from the lower tank, hot fuel pump "heat" syndrome and it was certainly very well priced, compared to buying the full pump/filter/plumbing module Honda wanted to sell me. The pump is spinning happily so far. I did discover I had to reuse the existing round rubber base to keep it within Honda's existing mounting bracket. I think I ended up using the larger rectangular t bag filter folding it gently to fit in the Honda's Brillo pad casing. It amazes me that fuel pumps and electrical wiring sits inside a tank with fuel & vapors etc. Still I guess if there are no sparks there won't be a problem. I am sure with some ingenuity one could fashion an external pump & filter. Guess its just finding some spare space of which there is not a lot of. I enjoyed the challenge of this task, not overly hard. Just be very safe and take all due care around the exposed petrol working. Cheers Steve
