Fantastic bargain
This is a non-motorized, all-manual-focus / manual exposure film lens. As such you cannot depend on the computer when using it. However, I often find it superior both optically and in terms of the control it gives me, and for under $20 it beats most lenses out there for my purposes. The lens is a tad heavy for a prime (non zoom) lens but it is short and stubby, and quite pocketable. This lens is now my most-used lens aside from the included 18-55mm kit lens on my Nikon. The focal length is long enough to capture serious detail, and the low f-ratio of 2.8 allows excellent flexibility in low-light situations. Close-ups are breathtaking. I have replaced several much larger lenses in the 250mm magnification range by using this lens with a cheap $10 2X teleconverter (power doubling accessory), and the combination of these two lenses is not only optically equal to my former heavyweights but the combination also fits in my smallest camera bag.

Excellent budget lens; superior construction and performance
Aside from being less compact as a kit lens than the tiny 22mm prime lens for EF-M, this is a sharp and versatile lens. It had better image quality than I expected for a kit zoom, and it is physically smaller than I expected as well -- perhaps 20% smaller than a Canon EF-S lens, at least. The lens is durable, having a metal shell, and focuses quickly and responds nicely. Image Stabilization works noticeably well compared to lenses that don't have it (I have compared the results). It offers manual focus when in mode AF+M on my EOS-M2. All in all a really good deal, especially if you can find one for under a bill. Don't let people try to convince you that you need the more expensive models for a walkabout lens.

Advanced DSLR photography for cheap; high-speed shutter; huge battery.
The Nikon d70s is a feature-packed professional camera now considered out of date at 10 years old but still an excellent deal for the money if you know how to use it. The d70s has special features for doing high-speed (crisp and sharp) photography, whether during daylight or with flash indoors. The extremely high shutter speed and the high speed flash are some of these. It is limited by its older 6-megapixel sensor which means you can't blow up pictures much. However, given the features and the image quality, this is only a minor concern. For the typical street price these days of about $100 for the body, this is an outstanding deal. The d70s is compatible with both the old style motorized Nikon lenses that had the motors built into the lens, and the modern variety which need to be used in manual mode. The enormous batteries allow 1500 pictures to be taken before they run out, which is probably 5x more than other Nikon models. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Where can you get a true DSLR for what I paid?
